Accessibility statement
We want this site to work whatever your sight, hearing, dexterity or equipment. Below is what we actually did, what is still outside our control, and how to tell us when something fails.
Status
This site conforms to WCAG 2.2, level AA.
Every page was checked in all three languages — text contrast, heading structure, keyboard operation, zoom and reflow. The statement is voluntary: Promopol is not a public body, and we hold the site to the standard anyway.
- Standard
- WCAG 2.2, level AA (EN 301 549)
- Scope
- All of promopol.pl — 45 pages across three languages
- Statement date
- 16 August 2026
- Last reviewed
- 16 August 2026
- Method
- Self-assessment by the site's developer: an automated audit of every page plus manual testing with the keyboard, at 200% zoom and at a 320 px viewport
What that means
Not a paper promise — a list of things you can verify on this page yourself.
Keyboard operation
The whole site works from the Tab key alone: the menu, the services dropdown, the language switcher, the cookie notice. The first stop on any page jumps straight to the content, past the navigation.
Visible focus
The focused element carries a two-tone ring — crimson on light surfaces, white on the navy bands. It never ends up hidden under the sticky header or behind the cookie bar.
Text contrast
Every piece of text sits at 4.5:1 or better, large text at 3:1. The brand red was deliberately darkened so it clears the threshold on white.
Zoom and reflow
Text enlarges to 200% with nothing lost, and the layout reflows down to a 320 px viewport — 400% zoom on a typical phone — with no horizontal scrolling.
Page structure
One H1 per page, no skipped heading levels below it, and labelled landmarks: banner, navigation, main content, footer. A screen reader can jump between them.
Image descriptions
Photographs that carry information have alternative text in the language of the page. Purely decorative photographs are deliberately hidden from screen readers so they do not clutter the reading.
Motion under control
The photo rotator on the home page has a pause button, and the system-level “reduce motion” setting switches off every animation on the site. Nothing flashes and nothing plays sound.
Target size
Every standalone link and button measures at least 24 by 24 pixels — including the phone number and e-mail address in the top bar, which used to be smaller. Links set inside a sentence keep the size of the text around them, which the standard allows.
Three languages, correctly declared
Polish, English and Ukrainian. Each page declares its language in the markup, so a screen reader pronounces it correctly, and the language switcher keeps you on the same page rather than dropping you at the home page.
No forms, no traps
The site collects nothing through forms — contact is by phone and e-mail. There is no login, no time limit and no content that moves on its own.
What we do not control
A statement is worth only as much as its weakest point, so here they are.
The Google map on the Contact page
It is a third-party component and its accessibility is Google's. It loads only after you consent, and the address is always printed beside it as text with a separate link — you can reach the office without touching the map.
External sites
The Allegro shop, hudig.pl and skancraft.com are separate sites run by other organisations. We link to them; we do not answer for how accessible they are.
Listings pulled from Allegro
The Allegro page shows our own listings, fetched automatically. Names and photographs come from our shop; the listing name is the link text and the photograph is decorative.
The basis of this statement
It is a self-assessment by the site's developer, not a certified external audit. Nor has the site been tested with people who use a screen reader daily — and they are the ones who catch what no tool measures. If something is inaccessible despite the testing, we want to hear about it.
Something not working?
Write or call. Give us the address of the page and describe what fails — a sentence about what you tried and what you expected helps most. Every report reaches the person responsible for the site.
If something on the site cannot be read, we will get it to you another way: over the phone, by e-mail, or in a different file format. You do not have to explain why — just ask.
Contact and visits
We will not assume the journey is easy for you. If getting to the office is difficult, we will handle the matter by phone or e-mail — quotes, arrangements and paperwork can all be done without a visit.
