A dust cannon produces a cloud of fine water mist that binds airborne dust particles and drops them to the ground. Unlike hosing the area down, it uses noticeably less water and treats the air rather than just the surface.
Typical uses are demolition and tear-downs, crushers and screeners, aggregate stockyards, handling of bulk materials, and haul roads on site. Increasingly this is not only a matter of working comfort but also of the client's requirements and of neighbouring housing.

- How does a dust cannon differ from hosing the area with water?
- A cannon breaks the water into a fine mist and throws it into the air, so it binds dust already hanging over the site rather than merely wetting the surface. For a comparable effect it uses noticeably less water and does not soften the ground to the same degree.
- Mobile or stationary?
- A mobile unit suits situations where the source of dust moves — demolition or earthworks. A stationary one makes sense at fixed points such as a crusher, a screener or a transfer station. Access to power and water also decides the choice.
